Set sail on a cruise to the Canary Islands, a group of Spanish islands off the coast of Africa known for their black and white sand beaches, beautiful gardens and historic buildings, also calling at Lisbon, Madeira and northern Spain's Galician coast.

Discover Spain's Canary Islands next summer on the Anthem of the Seas. The second of Royal Caribbean’s revolutionary Quantum Class of ships, the cruise line says that it boasts more state-of-the-art technology, spectacular entertainment and world-class dining than any other in the world.

Sail from Southampton to the Canaries, calling at Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife. What's more, you'll also visit the Portuguese island of Madeira, as well as the capital, Lisbon, and en route stop at the northern Spanish cities of Vigo and La Coruña. And if the onboard entertainment wasn't enough, if you need more enticement, how does a RipCord, a skydiving simulator and a Seaplex sound? The Seaplex is the current largest ports and entertainment centre at sea, with activities such as roller skating, bumper cars and video games.

DAY 1 - Embark in Southampton

Start your cruise at the UKs largest cruise port, Southampton.

The city has no shortage of maritime and historical attractions. Discover local landmarks on a walking tour incuding 30 ancient monuments, learn about the tragic story of the Titanic or escape to the great outdoors at the New Forest.

With numerous options for seafood dining and even a free art gallery you may decide to stay before or after your cruise!

DAY 2 - At Sea

Today we will spend the day at sea on our way to Vigo. This is a perfect time to explore and see for yourself what an amazing ship the Anthem of the Seas is.

As well as all the activities onboard, there are many options for dining throughout the day. The gourmet marketplace, sushi bar and upscale steakhouse are just a few of the options you may want to try.

DAY 3 - Vibrant Vigo

With lush mountain landscapes providing the perfect backdrop, the northern Spanish city of Vigo city boasts a combination of ancient architecture, contemporary attractions and beautiful natural spaces to explore.

Vigo is also home to the largest fishing fleet in Europe and here on the Galician coast, you’ll find some of the best seafood you’ve ever tasted! Venture further afield to the Cies Islands for some of the best white-sand beaches and scenic hiking in Spain.

DAY 4 - Discovering Lisbon

Lisbon needs little introduction. It’s the largest and capital city of Portugal, and one of the oldest cities in the world.

Lisbon is also an idyllic cruise holiday destination offering attractions to suit all interests. Ancient forts, artistic neighbourhoods and the breath-taking Jeronimos Monastery means this port of call has plenty to explore.

Whether you to decide to discover the many species at the Oceanarium or escape to the charming town of Sintra to explore the colourful castle, you will reaise that Lisbon as something for everyone!

DAY 5 - At Sea

Have a relaxing day onboard while we travel across the Atlantic to Lanzarote or try some of the many activities available on-board. Roller skating, sky diving, and bumper cars are just a few of the many activities the Anthem of the Seas offers.

DAY 6 - Arrecife, Lanzarote

Today, you reach Spain's Canary Islands, which lie off the Atlantic coast of Africa.

The island of Lanzarote, the northernmost and easternmost of the islands, and its capital city, Arrecife, is the first stop. Situated less than 80miles from Africa, it has a varied history. The town started as a fishing village in the 15th century but has grown into a tourism hub. Enjoy the day discovering all the island has to offer.

DAY 7 - Las Palmas, Gran Canaria

Another day, another island. Today youu will call at the town of Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria!

The third largest of the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria is the most populous, with 40% of the islands' population living on the island, most in the capital, Las Palmas.

Here you can see one of Europe’s most famous beaches, Las Palmas is the place for fun in the sun! However, look further and you will find that there is much more than just that. Hike the breath-taking Bandama Caldera crater or discover the interactive Elder Museum of Science and technology. If you are looking to relax grab a lounger and top up your tan on the beach.

DAY 8 - Santa Cruz, Tenerife

Shopping, enjoying the sun-soaked beaches or watching the world go by, Santa Cruz de Tenerife will not disappoint. The capital of the island of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Isalnds, it has a little bit of everything to make your day as varied as you would like. It’s time to put on your dancing shoes, let your hair down and get ready to enjoy this laid-back lifestyle!

DAY 9 - Funchal, Madeira

Today, sailing back north, you will stop at the Portuguese island of Madeira.

Funchal is Madeira’s largest town and despite its small size and just over 100,000 inhabitants, it has a lot to offer visitors to this beautiful island.

The lush, green city found on the south of the island is a haven of relaxation, outdoor activities and beautiful gardens. If you are feeling adventurous, you will love diving in the crystal-clear sea or catching some waves surfing. You can even swim with dolphins here too!
If you want to spend the day at a slower pace there is time to admire the wonderful gardens of Funchal.

DAY 10 - At Sea

Today you spend a relaxing day sailing back to the mainland of Spain. Enjoy the raft of facilities available on board.

DAY 11 - La Coruña, Spain

Your final stop will once again be in northern Spain, at the historic city of La Coruña.

Whether you’re looking for a final chance to top up your tan on the beach with shops and restaurants just a short walk away, or looking to explore fascinating museums and ancient castles, La Coruña offers attractions for everyone. This trendy and modern city features a busy hub in the centre with an abundance of dining and shopping as well as unique monuments such as the Tower of Hercules. Enjoy sweeping views out to sea and don’t forget your camera.

DAY 12 - At Sea

Today you will be sailing back to Southampton across the Bay of Biscay. Time to do any of the many activities onboard or maybe repeat some of the ones you have tried already. Meet with new friends and review your purchases and souvenirs collected over the last few days.

DAY 13 - Disembark in Southampton

You will arrive in Southampton ready to begin your onward journey home or to continue your adventure!
