DAY 1 - Arrive in Bergen, Gateway to the Fjords

Fly from London Heathrow and arrive in Bergen airport, where you will be met by our representative who will coordinate your transfer to the hotel. Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, but has the charm and atmosphere of a much smaller town. You may wish to head out on your own to orientate yourself with the local area before meeting the rest of your group at the welcome dinner in Bergen this evening.

Included meals: Dinner

DAY 2 - Bergen Sightseeing Tour

Today we will explore the Bergen, enjoying a sightseeing city tour taking in the venerable King Haakon's Hall, the Rosenkranz Tower, and Bryggen - a row of Hanseatic timbered houses with characteristic pointed gables facing the harbor, and the bustling Fish and Flower Market, the City Park, and the Grieghall - the concert hall of Bergen. We will take the Fløibanen funicular up to Mount Fløyen (320 m above sea level) takes about 5–8 minutes and is an experience in itself. At the top you can enjoy the fantastic views of Bergen and the surrounding mountains and fjords.

Included meals: Dinner

DAY 3 - Winter Fjord Cruise

Today we take the train from Bergen to Voss, and then travel on by bus to Gudvangen. A 2-hour fjord cruise brings us along the Nærøyfjord to Flåm. The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest fjord channel in Europe, and has recently been added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The boat occasionally has to break its way through the ice during winter; the cracking of the ice makes this an even more magical experience.
After lunch you will arrive in the small fjord village of Flåm, where we spend the night. A walk here is highly recommended to enjoy the special tranquility that Flåm has to offer. Dinner in Flåm together this evening.

Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner

DAY 4 - Flåm & Bergen Railway to Oslo

After breakfast at the hotel, our Norwegian winter adventure continues on board the Flåm Railway, passing through the wild and beautiful mountain scenery of frozen waterfalls and steep mountain sides along the Sognefjord, eventually reaching a height of about 900 metres. From Myrdal, our journey continues on board the Bergen Railway, taking us across the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau to Finse Station, Norway’s highest train station at 1,222 meters above sea level.
This afternoon we arrive in Norway’s capital city, Oslo and check in to our hotel.

Included meals: Breakfast

DAY 5 - Leisure day in Oslo

Norway's capital city is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and is surrounded by forested ridges. Oslo offers you the opportuity to get out and about and explore many of the well-known sights, such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Oslo Opera House. Follow your own interests today.

Included meals: Breakfast

DAY 6 - Tromsø and The Northern Lights

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport for our flights to Tromsø. The arctic city of Tromsø is the world’s most Northern university town and the largest city in the Arctic Circle. The city lies between the sharp craggy peaks of the Lyngen Alps, and combines wild scenery with urban life.
We will check in to our hotel before heading out again this evening to search for the Northern Lights. Due to the stable climate of the location of the arctic centre, the persistent Aurora watcher will have excellent chances of spotting the frail rays of this beauty. In this uninhabited area, no artificial light will disturb your experience or your attempts to capture the Aurora Borealis with a camera. The excursion includes a 2km hike through the valley at night-time and a hot meal by the open fire in the dining lavvu (Sami tent).

Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner

DAY 7 - Winter Activities at Camp Tamok

This morning we will head to Camp Tamok, where everyone receives outdoor clothes and shoes to keep you warm during the day activities. The day kicks off with dog sledding - say hello to a bunch of barking huskies that are ready for action (but still very friendly). After training, you will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled, with the opportunity to switch places half way. You will be on the sled for about 1.5-2 hours before returning to Camp for a hot meal and fresh coffee in the lavvu.
After lunch, you will have some free time to explore the camp. For an extra cost you may choose to try ice fishing or cross country skiing. This evening we will enjoy a Snowmobile safari together for roughly 2.5hrs, giving you the opportunity to venture far into the wilderness and experience the mountains of the far north. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. The top point of the trail is the ice-covered lake of Finn, where you may wish to speed up and get your adrenaline really pumping. At the end of the day, a hot meal and coffee are served in the cosy dining lavvu by the bonfire.
A final evening trip will give you another good opportunity to experience the Northern Lights before heading back to Tromsø late in the evening.

Included meals: Breakfast Lunch & Dinner

DAY 8 - Tromsø

There is some time at leisure this morning to experience Tromsø, a place often referred to as ‘Paris of the North’ due to its lively atmosphere. Sights of interest include the Arctic Cathedral, Polaria, the Polar Museum and the Northern Light Planetarium.
For lunch today we'll dine together to say farewell at the Tromsø Ice Domes, set high amongst the mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley. The Tromsø Ice Domes are reconstructed each year as the long Polar Night approaches. The snow and ice art on show here reflects the unique bond between man and nature in a breathtaking manner. The two ice bars and ice restaurant have themes ranging from local Sami culture to the Northern Lights, conveyed through beautiful coloured lighting and wonderful ice sculptures.

Included meals: Breakfast & Lunch

DAY 9 - Goodbye to Tromsø and Home

After breakfast at the hotel, check-out and transfer to Tromsø airport for the flights home.

Included meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: none
