Spectacular Serengeti Tanzania Safari

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport in Arusha. Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania, close to Mount Kilimanjaro and the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. You will be met by a Big Safari Company representative and transferred to Rivertrees Country Inn, a charming old farm house, nestled between Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, in natural gardens along the Usa River. It is close to the airport and Arusha but away from the hustle and bustle of a city hotel. 

We'll depart Arusha this morning and head into Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is a spectacular region of the Great Rift Valley, including a large lake, wetland forest, acacia woodland and open grassland. Wildlife roams the plains and frequent the waters of the lake and the Simba River, which are teeming with hippo. The forests of the region are home to blue monkeys, vervets, baboons, aardvark, pangolin, leopard and even black rhino. The area is also home to famous tree-climbing lions. Late afternoon, we'll game drive to the Manyara Green Camp on the shores of the Lake 

Enjoy the evening in this stunning camp, climb up the rocks of the waterfalls and dinner under the stars on the dry river bed and overnight in your own spacious tent with proper beds, comfortable linens and the sounds of Africa all around you as you fall asleep.

Enjoy a morning walk on the lake shores, various game drives, including a night game drive and overnight back in the Manyara Green Camp.

Morning game drive out of Manyara, stopping at a treetop walkway en-route out of the park. This is followed by a guided walk or tuk tuk ride through the local farming village of Mto Wa Mbu, ending in a local lunch served in a banana plantation. Afternoon transfer onto the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and then to the stylish Sanctuary Crater Camp.

Very early departure from the camp on to the Crater floor. We prefer to stay in this camp because it's close to the Crater floor and we can be the first vehicle on the floor. This is best for the game viewing as we are always ahead of the other vehicles.

We'll have a packed brunch whilst we're on the crater floor with the spectacular safari scenery and wildlife around us. We return to Mysigio Camp set in the crater plains for late afternoon. Once settled, a short 10 minutes walk takes us to a nearby space which will be prepared by the maasai for us to enjoy experiencing and learning about some traditional Maasai activities and rituals.

Supper under the stars and overnight in a traditional-style safari tent.

After a freshly cooked breakfast, we'll enjoy a short walk with a Maasai escort and then depart and head off in pursuit of The Serengeti.

Game drives during the day and then back to Wayo Green Camp set in the heart of the plains and near to the national park gate.

Enjoy sundowners and a freshly cooked supper under the stars. 

Enjoy a full day game driving in the short grass plains up to our very remote Wayo Walking Camp set in the walking zones and away from other tourists.

There is an option to go on a dawn Serengeti Balloon Safari to enjoy the beautiful plains from the air.

You will arrive in the afternoon and enjoy an afternoon stroll to return back to camp for sundowners on some rocky kopjes (small hills) and dine under the stars. Your tent will be a 'star tent' which has the option of upzipping to simply be a frame of secure, strong gauze so that you can sleep under the stars.

Full day walking safari in the Serengeti or the option for some to return back to camp to enjoy the quiet of the landscape or choose to game drive the plains.

Plans are flexible and can very much fit around your desires at the time. You will return back to the walking camp in the evening to enjoy your star tent for your last night in Africa.

Game drive to the Seronera airstrip and flight from there to Arusha approx 11:00am. 15kg luggage hold limit.

Pick up in Arusha airport, transfer to a Rivertrees day room with lunch and afternoon transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flights.
